- Market Demand -- Measures potential of local market accounting for local production for sale in the country and foreign imports.
- Production -- Measures industry sales covering domestic sales plus foreign sales (exports).
- International trade -- Exports and Imports measure exposure of the country's manufacturers and consumers to global markets.
- Market Demand = Production - Exports + Imports
QuERI also maintains databases covering Bilateral Trade -- 67 commodities measuring trade flows between 72 countries and 20 regions with 72 countries and 20 regions. Data is maintained in terms of nominal US dollars, real 1995 US dollars, ocean metric tons, ocean containerized tons, ocean TEUs, and air freight flows in terms of values and volumes.
Employment in ISIC2, ISIC3, and NAICS 6 categories by industry group and by country is maintained in the QuERI databases. This allows productivity to be calculated by industry as well as unit wage indices using data on average wages and average hours worked by country.
